Day 1   Arrive Nairobi   (LD)
JAMBO! Welcome to Kenya! You will be met and transferred to your hotel. After lunch, drive out to the suburbs of Karen to visit the former home of Karen von BLIXEN, which is now a museum. You'll have time to walk the beautiful grounds before continuing to the Giraffe Center for a unique opportunity to come "eye to eye" with the beautiful Rothschild giraffe. Later this evening, enjoy dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant. Norfolk Hotel

Day 2  Nairobi-Tsavo   (BLD)
Depart by road to Tsavo - big game country. After lunch at your tented camp, enjoy a game drive in this expansive park. Tsavo is divided into Tsavo East and Tsavo West. The entire park is over 10 million acres of untouched wilderness and comprises habitats such as wide-open savannahs, riverine forest and life-giving springs. Denys Finch Hatton was one of the great adventure pioneers in East Africa. He believed in showing his guests the best of the African bush in luxurious style. Dining with fine crystal and china was standard on his safaris, and those traditions are carried on today at the camp. Finch Hattons Tented Camp

Day 3   Tsavo   (BLD)
Tsavo is known for its "red elephants". Their skins have been tainted by the ochre red dust and mud found in Tsavo, giving it a reddish tint. A visit to Mzima Springs is a highlight. Here, a bubbling spring of crystal clear water provides a welcome oasis for wildlife in the area. Along with elephant, look for giraffe, bushbuck, eland and more - along with more than 300 recorded species of birds. Finch Hattons Tented Camp

Day 4   Tsavo-Amboseli   (BLD)
A road journey takes you into Amboseli National Park, set at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The park may be best known for its herds of elephants and the ground-breaking research begun by Cynthia Moss in the early 1970's. Along with these gentle giants, other plains game such as zebra, wildebeest and buffalo are in abundance. Tortillis Tented Camp

Day 5   Amboseli   (BLD)

This is one of the best places from which to see the snow-capped peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro - rise early to catch the first views as the cloud cover lifts to reveal this impressive mountain. Your camp is built under the shade of Acacia Tortillis trees and boasts a magnificent view of the park. Take time to sit and enjoy the dramatic vistas from the verandah of the camp. On game drives you will have the opportunity to observe the behavior of the giant elephants in the area, as well as look for predators such as lions and hyenas. Tortillis Tented Camp

Day 6   Amboseli-Samburu   (BLD)
An early morning flight takes us back to Nairobi where we connect to the light aircraft flight to Samburu in northern Kenya. Samburu is one of Kenya's smaller parks, making game viewing spectacular. Your tented camp is located alongside the Faso Nyiro River, providing great game viewing opportunities from the verandah of your tent. An afternoon game drive might reveal some of the local species: Grevy's zebra, gerenuk and Beisa oryx. Samburu Intrepids Club

Day 7  Samburu   (BLD)
The "brown" Uaso Nyiro River attracts a wide variety of game in search of water and game viewing along the river banks might reveal zebra, dik dik, buffalo and hippo. Leopard are frequently sighted in Samburu, so be sure to keep a watch on the high tree branches that form a canopy over the banks of the river. Back at camp, relax on the verandah or take a dip in the pool. Samburu Intrepids Club

Day 8  Masai Mara   (BLD)
A light aircraft flight takes you to Kenya's most famous park, the Masai Mara National Reserve. Here the Maasai graze their cattle and live side by side with the resident wildlife. Your luxury tented camp is located on the banks of the Mara River and provides exceptional game viewing right from the camp. This is also the base for the famous series "Big Cat Diary" and you will quickly see why. Governors Tented Camp

Day 9   Masai Mara   (BLD)
Two full days in the Masai Mara give you the opportunity to explore and game-view in this rich area. Thanks to the abundant food supply provided by large herds of plains game such as zebra, impala, buffalo and more, the big cats are found frequently in the Mara. Birdlife in this area is prolific as well. Governors Tented Camp

Day 10  Masai Mara   (BLD)
A full day in the Masai Mara has time for both morning and afternoon game-viewing activities. Governors Tented Camp

Day 11  Masai Mara-Depart   (BD)
This morning, return to Nairobi by light aircraft flight where day rooms are available until your departure this evening on the overnight flight to London. Norfolk Hotel (Day Room)

B= breakfast, L=lunch, D=dinner
