SIRIMON ROUTE - 5 DAYS

Day 1: Nairobi - Nanyuki

Pick up from your hotel and drive to Nanyuki arriving in time for lunch at the sportsman's arms hotel. Here you will meet your guide who will be willing to answer all your questions and explain to you what you need to do in preparation for your climb and also explain to you about the weather on the mountain. The rest of the day is spent acclimatizing.

Day 2: Old Moses Hut
Transfer from the sportsman's Arm Hotel to Sirimon Gate where your climb will commence. Walk through the rain forest for 9 km (5 hrs walk) to the first mountain hut - Old Moses hut.

Day 3: Shipton Hut
After breakfast continue the climb through Mackinders Valley to the second hut - Shipton Hut at 4200m. Dinner and overnight at Shipton Hut.

Day 4: Old Moses Hut
Early morning climb to point Lenana at 4985m. On a clear day you should be able to see Mt. Kilimanjaro to the south, Mt Elgon to the west and the Indian Ocean to the East. Thereafter begin your descent to Shipton Hut for a hearty breakfast, thereafter descending to Old Moses' Hut for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Nairobi
After breakfast descend to the gate where your driver/guide will be waiting to take you back to Nairobi where the tour ends.
